THE SENS OF THE SEE

CAPTIVE UNICORN
"Captive Unicorn" is one of Rockfeller collection tapestries keep to the Cloister of the Metropolitan Museum in New York. It were weaved in the XVIth century in Brussels from a design by an artist familiar with the French Art. It is the last and seventh in a series representing the hunt of the Unicorn. Here she was resurrected, enclosed in a garden under a pomegranate tree. On a "Mille Fleurs" backround, he is chained up to the tree (as symbole of marriage and fidelity in the midle age)
