The passion for exoticism, borns at the time of the visite in France of the Siam kingdom embassador during the end of the 17th century, give its expression to Chinese peoples painted by Christophe Huet on woodworks and objects. Since 1733 he collaborates with Claude III Audran in the decorations of the Anet'castle from the duchess of Maine order (famous living room gilded now destroyed). It is in particular to him that one allots the splendid one and delicate bestiary decorating the harpsichord worked out in 1733 by François-Etienne Blanchet for the Thoiry' castle.

"La Grande Singerie" (1737) to the Condé museum: A long time allotted to Watteau by Edmont de Goncourt, is one of the center pieces of the Chantilly castle. It is a boudoir which owes its name from the topic of paintings which decorate its walls, its doors and its ceiling. Irony and exoticism of the time which did not lose anything of their charms.
"La Petite Singerie" (1735): Located at the ground floor of the small castle, was separating the apartments of the duke from the ones of the duchess of Bourbon.
We have selected some elements interesting and we have adapted them to the small formats for cushions and mural panels (nb: Panels of the same size may be stitched individually and then joined together to make rugs or wall hangings of varying sizes and design combinations.). Use the Hungria stich for the background and the Gobelin or Aubusson stitch for the motive. If you plan to set up a cushion, the basketweave ( Petit Point or St. Cyr stitch in French) is highly recommended.
